Sunway University signs MOU with Ipsos Malaysia

Sunway University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Ipsos Malaysia, a leading global market research and consulting firm. This MOU marks a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to cultivate collaborative partnerships with industry leaders and establish Sunway University as a centre of excellence for research, engagement, and education.

The MOU outlines several areas of collaboration that will benefit both Sunway University and Ipsos Malaysia. One of the key areas is access to Malaysian data available from the Ipsos Global Advisor, a database that regularly collects people's opinions across a broad range of topics and current issues. In addition to potential research opportunities arising from the Global Advisor data, it also helps the staff design authentic assessments and learning materials that reflect real-world practices. There are abundant opportunities for staff and students to uncover invaluable insights into consumer behavior, market trends, and other important topics embedded in the dataset through a rigorous data exploration and modeling workflow.

In addition, the MOU includes internship and graduate opportunities for Sunway University graduates at Ipsos. This will provide students with a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the industry and learn from experts in their respective fields. Sunway University will also offer Ipsos opportunities for statistical consulting, enabling faculty members to closely collaborate with Ipsos researchers in data analysis, developing statistical models, and utilising the results to inform policymaking.

Furthermore, the MOU encompasses joint collaborative knowledge exchange and transfer initiatives in relevant areas, such as conferences, workshops, and webinars. These activities will facilitate the sharing of research findings, exchange of ideas, and collaboration on mutually interesting projects.

The MOU also involves capability development activities and programmes, aiming to enhance the skills and knowledge of Ipsos employees. For instance, Sunway University can assist in developing tailored training programmes and workshops that cater to the specific needs of Ipsos.

Lastly, the MOU includes any other areas of collaboration that are mutually beneficial to both parties. The School eagerly anticipates further collaboration and exploring additional opportunities to work together.

In conclusion, this MOU represents a significant stride in the ongoing efforts to foster collaborative partnerships with industry leaders and the opportunities it will provide to students, faculty, and staff. This collaboration will undoubtedly lead to numerous exciting research projects and initiatives in the years ahead.

The School eagerly looks forward to a fruitful partnership with Ipsos Malaysia in the years to come!
