Dr Low Yeh Ching from the Department of Computing and Information Systems presented her paper titled “Statistical Modeling for Review Ratings Data” at the 6th International Conference on Knowledge Discovery 2017 at Penang, Malaysia on 25th November 2017. Her presentation was selected as one of the best presentation at the conference.

Two students, one from Sunway University and another from Sunway College embarked on a two-week long exchange programme at the Peking University, China. In exchange, two students from Peking University were at Sunway University for a month.
On 28th August 2017 in a ceremony at the Malaysian Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) office in Cyberjaya, Sunway University was awarded the status of ‘Premier Digital Institution of Higher Learning’. This first-ever special status was awarded to only 8 universities in the country for offering the best IT education and IT infrastructure. This award highlights Sunway University’s efforts especially the Department of Computing and Information Systems in empowering IT graduates by enhancing their digital skills in order to meet industry-demands.
On 25th July 2017, Sunway Education Group celebrated its 30th Anniversary with a first-ever in Malaysia 3D Laser Light Show. Over 4,000 students, staff and guests attended this electrifying event held at our FIFA-certified football field. The celebration saw our talented students and staff performing various dances, songs and acts, followed by the thrilling and magical performance by the Great Moudini, which ignited the night with the 3D Laser Light Show.
