Biography

Professor David Andrew Bradley is Head of the Centre for Radiation Sciences at Sunway University and Professor Emeritus of University of Surrey, UK. He has more than 47 years of experience in universities, with 14 of them spent as Director of MSc in Medical Physics programmes at University of Exeter and University of Surrey. He has been Secretary of the International Radiation Physics Society (IRPS) and Editor-in-Chief of the British Journal of Radiology as well as the journals Applied Radiation and Isotopes and Radiation Physics and Chemistry. He is currently Consulting Editor for the latter two journals. His research interest into the fundamentals of radiation have turned into the applications in biomedical areas and industry as well as areas concerning safe working with radiation including radioanalysis, radiological risks associated with Naturally Occuring Radioactive Material (NORM), techniques for characterisation of media, predominantly biological tissues, radiation effects on cells and tissues, and development of luminescence dosimeters. His interest in the development of luminescence dosimeters led to the formation of two companies — TrueInvivo Limited in the UK and Lumisyns Sdn Bhd in Malaysia.
