Dr Tan Yee Seng

  • Senior Research Fellow
Sunway Biofunctional Molecules Discovery Centre

Biography

Dr Tan Yee Seng obtained his Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Chemistry from Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman in 2010. He then joined University of Malaya for a year as Research Assistant under the mentorship of Professor Edward Tiekink. Following that, he enrolled as a postgraduate student and was awarded a PhD degree in 2016. During his postgraduate study, Dr Tan was nominated as one of the Malaysian representatives to participate in the 7th HOPE Meeting with Nobel Laureates held in Tokyo, Japan in 2015 and was recognised as a HOPE Meeting fellow.

He has been with Sunway University as Research Fellow in the Research Centre for Crystalline Materials since November 2015. His research focuses on the crystal engineering for dithiolate coordination compound and coordination polymer. Over and above, his research interest is also directed towards the serendipitous encounter of crystal transformations.
