Biography

Shamirul (Ph.D.) is a Lecturer in Human Resource Management at Sunway Business School, Sunway University. Shamirul received Ph.D. in Business from Taylor's University. His Ph.D. thesis delved into the role of high-involvement working and competence in managing workplace presenteeism and reducing employees' intention to quit. His research interests include strategic HRM, work psychology, and higher education, primarily focusing on presenteeism, high-involvement work, and employee well-being within organisational and higher education contexts. He has presented his research in academic conferences at the University of Leeds and Taylor's University. His work has appeared in the Journal of Cleaner Production, Employee Relations, Higher Education, International Journal of Bank Marketing, and European Journal of Training and Development. Shamirul is on the editorial review board for the International Journal of Bank Marketing and an early career review board for Career Development International. He is also an active reviewer for multiple journals. 

Shamirul has taught various subjects, including Final Year Project, Leading in the Age of Digital Disruption, Principles and Practice of Management, Human Resource Management, Business Ethics, and Research Methods. He collaborated with industry partners (Keypath and LINC Education), contributing to the curriculum design for post-graduate courses.
