Biography

Cirami graduated with a LLB (Hons) degree from the University of London, and was called to the Bar of England and Wales by the Honourable Society of Gray’s Inn, in 1996. Thereafter she worked for some time in industry. In 2001, she was awarded a LLM research degree from the University of Greenwich, in the area of intellectual property law, performers rights and the entertainment industry. Upon being called to the Bar as an Advocate and Solicitor in Malaysia in 2005, Cirami practised in the area of intellectual property law and corporate law for a number of years before she entered academia. Cirami has presented papers and written a number of articles for international journals such as the Business Law Review and the Technology and Entertainment Law Journal and has acted as subscribing editor for a number of annotated statutes published by Lexis Nexis Malaysia.  Her current area of research is in media law and human rights.
