The World Young Scientists Summit (WYSS) and Visit to Wenzhou University of Technology

 

Professor Chai Lay Ching, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education) of Sunway University, Malaysia, was honoured with a gracious invitation to serve as a distinguished speaker, delivering the opening remarks at the 2023 Youth Climate Action Forum and the 2023 Global Roundtable for Young Scientist Scholars at the World Young Scientist Pi Community. This distinguished gathering assembled nearly 1,000 luminaries, including renowned experts, scholars, institutional representatives, entrepreneurs, and emerging young talents from around the world. Their shared focus cantered on a profound exploration of the transformative potential of technological innovation in propelling sustainable development.

During the Climate Education session at Wenzhou No.2 Foreign Language School, Shannon Kobran from SDSN Asia, hosted by Sunway University, emphasized the significance of SDGs for over 300 high school students. Additionally, Professor Chai Lay Ching engaged in an insightful exchange of ideas with Madam Ni Tong, Deputy Director of Wenzhou Education Bureau, fostering collaborative efforts in education. It's truly inspiring to witness the shared enthusiasm for cross-border partnerships in education.

Professor Chai Lay Ching attended the 2023 World Young Scientists Summit with Ni Tong, a member of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of the Education Bureau of Wenzhou City.

Following the summit, Professor Chai Lay Ching, undertook a visit to Wenzhou University of Technology (WZUT). The warm reception extended by Vice President Wu Xiangpeng and colleagues created a vibrant atmosphere for an engaging exchange of ideas. Conversations delved into various domains, covering international cooperation in joint academic endeavours, collaborative exchanges, and research initiatives. Subsequent to the dialogue, Vice President Wu Xiangpeng and Professor Chai Lay Ching embarked on a thorough exploration of the campus, deepening their mutual understanding of collaborative aspirations.
