World Chinese Language Conference 2023

 

President Sibrandes Poppema of Sunway University was the distinguished keynote speaker at the World Chinese Language Conference (WCLC) in Beijing from December 7 to 9. As a consultant for the Center for Language Education and Cooperation (CLEC), he discussed "The Role of Language Education in the Internationalization of Higher Education and Interdisciplinary Talent Development," using Sunway University as a noteworthy example.

This globally significant event, organized by the Ministry of Education, China, and co-organized by the State Council of China, attracted delegates worldwide. Sunway University proudly represented Malaysia as the only participating university. Mr. Lester Lee, from Sunway University's International Office of Partnership and Recruitment, accompanied President Poppema. The conference was a pivotal moment for fostering global collaboration in language education and higher education internationalization.
