Building a sustainable future

This collaborative effort unites four prestigious universities: UM, UNIMAP, UTM, and Sunway University, bridging the worlds of Engineering and STEM Education. Ir Ts Dr Dewika Naidu is one of the collaborators from Sunway School of American Education.

Their ongoing mission to address the critical issue of Micro / Nano plastics, they have taken a significant step towards raising awareness within our society. Their recent endeavors have evolved beyond conventional adult webinars whereby they also now intend to nurture the young minds, the future of our nation.

They achieved multiple objectives, concurrently!

1. They introduced the young minds to the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals.
2. They specifically emphasize the pressing concerns of SDG 14 & 15, which encompass Plastic Pollution and the intricate issues leading to the creation of Micro/ Nano plastics on our planet. Their aim is to create awareness!
3. They are not just delivering standard lectures; they integrated STEM education methods to make a profound impact. It not only imparts knowledge but also encourages critical thinking, problem-solving, and hands-on learning.

By targeting the youth, this activity aims to instil a sense of responsibility for the environment in the next generation. This can lead to a future with more environmentally conscious individuals who actively work towards reducing plastic pollution and micro/nano plastics eventually.

They hope and pray that their noble cause will persist and ascend to even greater heights, fueled by increased collaboration from universities and organizations alike. Together, they can magnify impact and collectively work towards a more sustainable and environmentally aware world.
