Sunway and Hungarian Universities Promoting Transnational Education

During the week of 10-15 October, 2022, Sunway University collaborated with the Embassy of Malaysia, Hungary at the Universities of Nyiregyhaza, Miskolc and Debrecen to promote opportunities for transnational higher education. MOUs were signed between Sunway University and three Hungarian Universities, paving the way for educational cooperation in the fields of sustainable development, business, cross cultural communication, research and exchanges.

Pictured here is the University of Debrecen MOU signing with Sunway University represented by Professor Stephen J Hall, Dean, School of Interdisciplinary Studies and Associate Professor Tamas Kiss, Centre for English Language Studies. The signing at University of Debrecen, which has its roots in 1538, was witnessed by the Malaysian Ambassador to Hungary, Francisco Munis. There were presentations about Sunway for both academics and students, as well as seminars on Malaysia and Malaysian culture; Manglish and International English and Identity, adaptability, creativity: Lessons for the classroom.  Hungarian students from all three Universities and Sunway University students are currently engaged with shared online cross- cultural projects, as part of Centre for English Language Studies (CELS) Communication Skills. An Erasmus Plus project is underway. Much more to come.
