SFNC Community Service 2022

The SFNC Community Service 2022, organized by Sunway Future Nurses Club (SFNC), was held on the 1st & 2nd of October 2022 (Saturday & Sunday), at AgeCare Elderly Home. It was attended by 7 student nurses from different groups and 7 Committee Members of SFNC. The event took 7.5 hours per day.
 

During the first day, the participants managed to clean the elderly home by sweeping and mopping the floor as well as rearranging the things in the cupboard, to make it tidier. On the second day, the participants did chair yoga with the elderly in the morning. The chair yoga was very interesting as it was a new experience for the participants. They understood that the elderly can improve their strengths and flexibility by sitting on a chair. Last but not least, they had some performances, such as singing 70s-80s songs and dancing with the elderly.

The group photos were taken throughout the event. This event was a success as it increased the members’ understanding regarding the elderly at the elderly home as well as strengthened the bond between the seniors and the juniors. Everyone was actively involved in the event and they are looking forward to participating in similar events next time.
