The UN Women 2021 Malaysia WEPs for Leadership Commitment

The UN Women 2021 Malaysia WEPs Awards revealed Malaysia's top private sector champions for gender equality, aligned with the Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs). 

The WEPs Awards recognize examplary innovations in the private sector that promote gender equity and women empowerment in the workplace, marketplace and community. Companies and business leaders are urged to take more visible steps to open the door for women in the workplace and inspire other businesses to do the same.

The full list of the Awardees is as follows:

Leadership Commitment: Professor Elizabeth Lee, Chief Executive Officer of Sunway Education Group

  • First Runner Up: Prof. Dr Wai Yie LEONG, Director of Research Innovation of Perdana University
  • Second Runner Up: Tunku Rozita Malek, Non-Executive Director of abrdn Islamic Malaysia

Gender-Inclusive Workplace: Intel Corporation Malaysia

  • First Runner Up: Nestlé
  • Second Runner Up: Digi Telecommunications

Community Engagement and Partnerships: Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia and Standard Chartered Saadiq Malaysia

Youth Leadership: Toh Yin Li, Business Manager and Co-Founder of Women at Maxis, Maxis
