Following its official launch on 5th January 2018, Sunway University Press has poised itself as one of the university’s aides in the transmission of scholarly learning. Its publication of Great Thinkers, Great Minds: Professorial Lecture Series helps underline the university’s complement of research expertise that can engage the broader public in new thoughts and perspectives.

The contributors to this inaugural volume are Vice-Chancellor Professor Graeme Wilkinson, Professor Pua Eng Chong, Professor Peter Heard, Dato’ Dr Goh Cheng Teik, Professor Poh Chit Laa, Professor Stephen Hall, Professor Glenda Crosling, Professor Edward Tiekink, Professor Harold Thwaites and Professor Naveed Ahmed Khan.

Edited by Professor Heard, Great Thinkers, Great Minds compiles 10 original research papers presented during the university’s Professorial Lecture Series. The 312-paged book delves into a wealth of topics, including the role of satellite data in the sustainable management of our environment, the search for and development of antiviral therapeutics, the use of digital technologies in modern museum experience, and the relevance of diversity in higher education.
