WITS University South Africa visited Sunway University
Witwatersrand University (WITS University), South Africa visited Sunway University on 8th November 2017 alongside Her Excellency Ms Samkelisiwe, The High Commissioner of South Africa to Malaysia. We were very fortunate to have SEG Senior Executive Director, Dr Elizabeth Lee to welcome the 22 MBA students from WITS University as part of their Global MBA Tour Program.
The group chose Sunway to learn about the Amazing Sunway City and how it has evolved over the years from “Wasteland to Wonderland”. They experienced the city’s wide connectivity through canopy walk, BRT and shuttle bus to get to other business units in Sunway – Sunway Pyramid, Sunway iLabs and Sunway Medical Centre; where they had the opportunity to be shown around on a tour.
At Sunway iLabs, the students heard from the head himself, Mr. Matthijs Geert-Jan Van Leeuwen on the working space for entrepreneurship. Sunway Healthcare showed them the brand new Cancer Centre at Tower C.
On campus, the students were given a talk on “Asian Malaysian Business Culture & Start Up Opportunities” by two of our very own distinguished VUMBA alumni, Richard Ong and Leong Teck Beng.
