The Speaker

Climate change will likely require major changes in how we grow food in order to both adapt to shifts in climate and to reduce the food system's emissions of greenhouse gases. Any change that is truly scalable will need to occur quickly, and yet many changes proposed as climate-smart are not yet well proven. This creates a dilemma in how to move quickly while still being evidence-based. I will discuss a few of the basic criteria that regenerative of climate-smart practices and technologies should be judged by, and will present some ideas on how we can more quickly gather evidence on what can work at scale.
