Sunway University and Malaysia Association for Behaviour Analysis invites you a talk by Dr Neil Martin on 11 Nov 2023 at 11am at Sunway University.

Dr Martin will talk on The Professionalisation of ABA Around the World.

About the Talk

In many countries around the world there has been a growing awareness and interest in the profession of applied behaviour analysis in the last decade, particularly in terms of its application to children with autism and developmental disabilities, with a concomitant increase in the number of individuals and organizations offering behaviour analytic services.

To date, other than certification and licensure for behaviour analysts in the United States, there are few country-specific standards, few country-specific behaviour analytics credentials, and little country-specific recognition of applied behaviour analysis as being a distinct profession with its own strategies, tactics and philosophical underpinning. This presentation makes by-country basis describes some of the challenges and barriers associated with the evolution and emergence of the profession worldwide.

About Dr Neil Martin

Dr Martin, a behaviour analyst since 1990, holds a PhD from the University of Reading and became a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst in 2002. In April 2015 Dr Martin became the BACB's Director of International Development to help advance the BACB's global mission and vision and to expand the number of behavior analysts and training courses worldwide.
