The Future Cities Festival – A 4-Day Expedition into the Future of Cities

Join us in June 2023 to explore, debate, and imagine possible futures for cities and urban centres around the globe. Contribute to discussions on how to solve some of the greatest challenges we are facing as a society associated with rapid urbanization, changing climate, the drive for net zero living, rapid technological advances, and growing hazards that are both natural and man-made.

Explore with us the best of city living and how we can preserve and respect cultures and heritage whilst embracing the future.

Within the Future Cities Research Institute we believe in, and are working towards, the development of cities and urban centres across the Global North and South.

Between the 13th – 16th June 2023, the FCRI will be running a series of online and in-person events and activities, across both of its international partner universities at Sunway University and Lancaster University to explore the cities of the future.

You are welcome to join in as many sessions as you like, and will be able to register for the activities you would like to attend soon. Activities will include keynote speakers, quick fire talks, networking and partnership building activities, research career development, and grant writing workshops. There will also be information about the seedcorn funding call, as well as the announcement of the winner of the My Cities Competition!
