Rob van Tulder is full Professor of International Business-Society Management at RSM Erasmus University Rotterdam. Since 1997. He holds a PhD degree (cum laude) in social sciences from the University of Amsterdam. He has acted as visiting professor in a large number of universities (Australia, US, Poland, Austria, Germany, Brazil, the Philippines) and is consultant to international organisations (such as the UN, the IMF and the European Union), multinational enterprises, Non-Governmental Organisations and ministries around the world. In 1998 he founded the department of Business-Society Management, was has become one of the leading departments in the world studying and teaching about the contribution of business and leaders towards society's 'grand challenges'. With more than 200 students, the departments hosts the largest Master on Global Business and Sustainability and was elected #1 in the world on education and research in CSR. For more than ten years he worked together with UNCTAD to compile the annual list of the 'world's largest TNCs' (Published in the World Investment Report).

In 2009, Dr. Van Tulder founded the Partnerships Resource Centre that studies the cross-sector partnerships between firms, NGOs and government for sustainable development. The PrC functions as a 'bridging' institute between academia and society. At the moment, the PrC engages in action research together with major societal stakeholders - including large MNEs - in a variety of countries around the world: ten countries in West and East Africa, Latin America (in particular Brazil and Chili); South-East Asia (in particular the Philippines). Over the years, dr. Van Tulder published in a wide range of academic journals such as California Management Review, Journal of International Business Studies, Business Strategy and the Environment, Journal of International Business Policy, ICCC, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of World Business and Business & Society.
