SynopsisThe subject provides an introductory, general underpinning knowledge about the business events industry. It will include management techniques and strategies required for successful event programme planning, budgeting, contracts, marketing, destination site, facility selection, food and lodging, sponsorship, logistics and others. It addresses the industry’s current need for graduates with the knowledge, skills and competencies to take up a variety of roles within the industry and other related sectors. The subject also provides students an understanding about the 'MICE' industry.                                                                                           
 
Learning Outcomes
  • Explain the role of business events stakeholders of a destination, in hosting meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions. 
  • Present a bid proposal for a meeting, incentives travel, convention or exhibition event. 
  • Discuss current issues and challenges shaping the business events industry.
