Biography

Embarking on a journey with Sunway College in December 2007, Low Ann Ann initiated her tenure as the Coordinator for the A-Level Programme, illustrating an early commitment to student engagement through the formation of the A-Level Student Council (ALSCO) and devising innovative programmes such as A-Level Starmaker and Student Ambassador (ALSTAR). Her involvement extended to crafting the A-Level Maths and Logic Challenge, establishing a gathering point for hundreds of students nationwide, and securing its foothold as a remarkable event within the academic landscape.

Transitioning to Sunway University, Ann Ann served as the Programme Chair of the BSc (Hons) Actuarial Studies programme in its initial stages, channelling her philosophy of impactful student development into its foundational framework. As an Advisor for Sunway Actuarial & Finance Excellence (SAFE), she orchestrated the successful Sunway Hedgemaster Symposium & Challenge, adeptly guiding students through the intricate, hands-on experience of organizing and executing prominent events.

In her teaching, Ann Ann bridges academic knowledge and real-world applications, ensuring a symbiotic relationship between theoretical knowledge and industry practices. Embracing Project-Based Learning (PBL), she instigates a learning environment where students actively explore real-world problems and challenges, enhancing their engagement and understanding of the curriculum. This integrated learning approach navigates both theoretical and practical aspects of education, forging a comprehensive and enriched educational pathway for her students.

Since 2019, Ann Ann has further demonstrated her dedication to student welfare through a pivotal role as a We-CARE member. This initiative, a collaboration between the Counselling & Wellness Unit and the Academic Programme, has provided a well-rounded, supportive framework, uniting academic, emotional, and mental well-being under a unified support structure.

As she navigates through the Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education Practice (PCHEP), Ann Ann's journey exemplifies continual professional and personal development, refining and enhancing her pedagogical methodologies to align with the dynamically evolving landscapes of higher education.
