Biography

Low Mai Yen has been teaching at the English for Specific Academic Purposes Unit, Centre for English Language Studies since 2010. She teaches Business English to students at the School of Business, School of Hospitality and School of Science and Technology. She has worked at the Ministry of Education in the Republic of Seychelles as a secondary school teacher, as well as a teacher training lecturer, from 1989 to 2009. She is interested in the study of minority and heritage languages and ways to maintain those languages. She is currently writing about the gradual loss of the heritage language among the Hubei community in Malaysia.
