  1. Design, develop, synthesise and characterise advanced 2D materials to improve the performance of various applications across disciplines with the primary aim of enhancing energy efficiency.
  2. Support local and overseas industries with solutions based on advanced materials that have high commercial potential and societal impact, thereby addressing national and Sustainable Development Goals.
  3. Integrate heat transfer, tribology, material science and biotechnology through interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research to address thermal, energy harvesting and energy storage problems.
