The MBA dual award programme is tailored for aspiring managers with the ambition to become strategic leaders within an increasingly complex organisational and business environment. The 2015 Financial Times (FT) World MBA Ranking ranks the Lancaster MBA 50th in the world, 9th in the United Kingdom (UK) and 18th in Europe (http://rankings.ft.com/businessschoolrankings/global-mba-ranking-2015). Indeed, the Lancaster MBA is amongst an exclusive group of only 9 UK based Universities to remain in the FT ranking for over a decade. In addition, the Lancaster MBA is a stand out performer, being ranked 1st in the world for the teaching of Corporate Strategy in the recent FT ranking. This programme is delivered in the purpose-built Graduate Centre utilising our unique Mindful Manager approach, designed to develop your cognitive and collaborative skills and your judgement and decision-making ability. Students have the flexibility of gaining credits by taking selected modules at other locations where Lancaster delivers an equivalent MBA programme. Current locations include Jordan, Ghana and the UK.
The faculty involved in designing and delivering this programme are amongst the best management consultants, educators and research scholars in the world. Outstanding, locally based global faculty complement a large contingent of UK based educators delivering the MBA dual award programme. Students need to complete level one modules before proceeding to level two. There are no other prerequisites, therefore delivering a high degree of flexibility.

A Bachelor’s Degree with minimum CGPA of 2.5 or equivalent
English Language Requirements
Cambridge O-Levels with minimum Grade C or SPM B3 and above, or equivalent.
An entry essay or equivalent, and three to five years of professional / managerial work experience. We undertake either a face-to-face or telephone interview.

As part of your application, you have to nominate two referees who can comment on your suitability for the programme. The referees should be people who are able to comment on your academic ability and your professional experience. If you left University several years ago and are unable to submit an academic reference, then two professional references will be acceptable.
Applicants will be required to submit the following documents:
- a detailed CV
- certified copy of the degree certificate
- certified copy of the degree transcript
- GMAT score report (if applicable)
- IELTS/PTE score report, or Cambridge O level results
- two references (at least one professional)
- a personal statement
If you do not have all the required documentation you should indicate when any missing items will become available upon submitting your application.
MBA Bursary or High Potential Scholarships
Financial assistance of up to RM10,000 per candidate is available solely for self-funded candidates. Applicants who wish to be considered for either the MBA Bursary or the MBA High Potential Scholarship will need to submit the MBA Bursary /Scholarship Application Form and prepare a PowerPoint presentation which will be discussed during the application interview.
Submission of Application
You may submit the Application Form together with the supporting documents by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by delivery to the MBA Office.
You will be requested to bring along your application in hardcopy when you have been shortlisted for an interview.
Once we have received your application and evaluated all essential supporting documents and test scores, a decision will be made regarding whether to shortlist you for interview. Incomplete applications will not be evaluated. Unsuccessful applicants will be notified by email.
If we shortlist you for interview we aim to offer you an interview slot within two to three weeks.
We interview all suitable applicants, either face-to-face or by telephone.
We aim to notify you of our final decision within 48 hours of the interview. If we offer you a place, we ask that you respond within three weeks of receiving your formal offer. An offer is only valid while there are still places available on the programme.
Finance should not be a barrier to enrolling in this leading MBA programme. Most students enrolling in the MBA Dual Award programme are successful in receiving financial assistance, meaning the full fee of RM69,988 can be reduced to as low as RM62,988. In addition, Malaysian applicants are eligible to apply for the Malaysian Government MyMasters Scholarship of up to RM10,000, potentially bringing your net fees down to RM52,988. These funding arrangements are easily accessible and represent unprecedented value for a premier MBA programme.
There is no application fee and you will be fully informed of the status of your application for financial assistance (i.e. Bursary/Scholarship) before paying the deposit to secure your place. Yes, as the MBA Dual Award Programme is offered by a local Higher Education Provider (i.e. Sunway University) you are eligible to apply to withdraw from your EPF account 2 to fund your MBA course fees. Refer to the MBA office for further information and an application form.
The Sunway University MBA Dual Award programme is delivered in collaboration with Lancaster University, with graduates receiving an MBA certificate from both institutions. The Lancaster University suite of MBA programmes are triple accredited by the premier global accreditation bodies (i.e. AACSB, EQUIS, and AMBA). Triple accreditation establishes that these independent bodies have established that Lancaster University Management School and their MBA is of the highest international standard. Given that only 59 institutions worldwide (i.e. less than 1% of business schools) have been granted Triple Accreditation the Lancaster University MBA can rightfully claim to be in the premier league.
All study materials are provided, including text books. All you need to provide is your personal stationery and an engaged mind.
You will attend classes once every 6-7 weeks in our purpose built Graduate Centre at Sunway University. Classes are run in block mode, whereby you will usually have classes on Thursday and Friday evenings and all day Saturday and Sunday. This is followed by approximately 5 weeks of self-learning when, with the support of the facilitators and interaction with your class peers, you will complete your assignments. Then you will move onto your next module. Class dates are advised well in advance to ensure you can plan your busy schedule of work and personal commitments around pursuing your studies.
While there is plentiful free street parking available around campus students are encouraged to use the secure, covered parking facilities available. There are two options: (i) The newly constructed multi-level University Car Park located on your left as you enter Sunway University at RM2 per entry and RM1 for subsequent hour up to a maximum of RM5. The car park closes at 12 midnight; (ii) Sunway Pyramid Car Park, Entry C, Blue Zone and enjoy a scenic 6-minute walk to Sunway campus (Graduate Centre) via the Canopy Walk which is located near the entrance to Sunway Lagoon.
The academics involved in facilitating the MBA classes are accomplished academics with industry experience. A large contingent of adjunct UK based educators complement our global Malaysian based staff. We utilise the same faculty who deliver the equivalent Lancaster University programme elsewhere.
Your primary source of learning support comes from the academic facilitating the class. Given that most students work on their assignments in the evenings you will find it particularly useful to correspond with UK based academic staff as they commence their work day. In addition we have Malaysian based academic staff that, in many cases, can complement the UK based staff. You will also have unprecedented access to online learning support. In addition to the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), where students can access support materials, you will also have access to extensive online library resources. Both Lancaster University and Sunway University provide you with easy access to international databases and thousands of e-journals.
Sunway Campus Library is one of the largest libraries for private educational institutions in Malaysia with a huge variety of books, e-journals, online e-databases, audio visual and other collections to support your learning and research efforts. Additionally, under the Monash Reciprocal Borrowing Programme, MBA students at Sunway University can register to borrow library materials from Monash University Sunway campus.

Currently the MBA Dual Award Programme is only offered in part-time mode. However, Malaysian based expatriates are welcome to apply, subject to their immigration pass allowing them to study while in Malaysia.
This is a two year part-time programme. The exact duration will be determined by your commencement date. Please contact the MBA office for the latest class schedule.
There is only one integrated case examination at the conclusion of level one of the programme. Some modules may however utilise tests or final examinations as part of the assessment regime.
Students have the flexibility of gaining credits on a maximum of four modules at other locations where Lancaster delivers an equivalent MBA programme.
Yes, the Lancaster University degree certificate that you receive on the MBA Dual Award Programme is identical to that received by MBA graduates in the UK
This MBA programme assumes no prior knowledge and is ideally suited to candidates whose first degree was in a different field.
